International Service

Servants for Sight’s mission work began in Haiti with Dr. Darrell Jervey, SR.  Over the years doctors and volunteers have traveled to China, Ecuador and Honduras. Our current partnerships are in the Dominican Republic with El Buen Samaritano hospital in La Romana, DR where we performed cataract surgery for people who mostly work in the sugar cane fields.   We have also partnered with AVX corporation which is based in Fountain Inn, SC.  We took a team of Optometrists and volunteers to their manufacturing plant in San Salvador, El Salvador to provide exams and screenings for those without viable options for eye care. Ophthalmologists and optometrists interested in accompanying us on one of our mission trips, should email us at info@servantsforsight.org.

Local Service

We currently work with ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Upstate of South Carolina.  Our vision van visits medical clinics and community centers that serve the indigent population to do vision screenings.  Our program caters to people without medical insurance and that fall under certain poverty levels.  Our physicians offer no charge eye exams to people who have been pre-screened and need glasses, cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment or diabetic retinopathy treatments.  Servants for Sight pays for glasses and supplies for surgeries and/or treatments.  We are always looking for more physicians to meet the need of over 17,000 people in just the Upstate of South Carolina.  If you are interested in joining our network of providers, please email aevette@servantsforsight.org.
